The Traveler
(Mini Sacrament Kit)

Have you ever felt just a little bit conspicuous or uncomfortable as you carried two large sacrament trays down the street or through a parking lot into a hospital or nursing home as you went about your assignment to take the sacrament to someone who is ill or unable to attend meetings regularly? Have you had the experience of searching for a plastic bag or some kind of container to carry a piece of bread and a few cups? Have you made do with a glass and saucer from the cupboard? Have you wished that you had a clean white cloth to cover a table and the sacrament as well? Have you been in isolated circumstances as a member of the military when you felt a desire to partake of the sacrament? Have you, as a missionary, been asked to serve the sacrament to people in a remote location? These are some of the situations that inspired me to develop The Traveler. For many years I thought about the need for such an item but would say to myself--Why doesn't someone make a small, portable sacrament kit? I said this out loud one day, and my wife said -- Why don't you do it? SO I DID!

I can tell you from personal experience what a great change The Traveler has made for me as I and my companions provide the sacred sacrament to three or four members who reside in a nursing facility. The self conscious feelings were immediately replaced by feelings of pride and humility as I for the first time thought of this service as truly magnifying one's priesthood. I am now at ease with this assignment and more able to turn my attention to the spiritual nature of this ordinance. Now as I walk down the halls of a nursing home, carrying my scriptures and sacrament kit, I do so with feelings of peace, joy and comfort as I realize that I am on the Lords errand. What a great blessing this has been to me.

The Traveler contains a bread tray, water tray, 2 white cotton clothes, a container for plastic or paper cups, a container for bread and a sacrament prayer card in a water repellant black Cordura zippered bag approximately 5" x 5" x 2 1/2".

What a great gift for a young missionary, military man and all priesthood holders.
